Passage des Panoramas · Paris 2nd

Tucked inside a
historic arcade.

Sound and Coffee sits inside the Passage des Panoramas — one of the oldest covered arcades in Paris. Glass roofs, dark woodwork, low light: the very setting of the neighbourhood extends the warm, hushed atmosphere of the bar.

01 / The place

A hybrid place — where a love of coffee meets a love of vinyl.

Inspired by Japanese jazz kissa — those Tokyo listening cafés born in the 1950s, where you sit down, stay quiet and listen to a record on a hi-fi rig built for that very purpose. Sound and Coffee carries that spirit, in a Parisian register.

By day, a coffee shop: specialty coffee drinks, soft light, patinated wood, and the grain of the vinyl taking centre stage.

Late in the day, like Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde — Sound and Coffee becomes SOCO, we turn into a wine and cocktail bar. The volume climbs, the records turn and the night begins.

02 / The founder

Cyril K.
Twenty years, the four corners of the world, one collection.

A former French Touch DJ, resident at the Rex Club and the Queen, producer — his records followed him across the world, club to club, city to city.

Sound and Coffee is meant as his sanctuary — a place where he opens his collection, fifteen thousand records, to anyone who wants to share that passion.

03 / The interior

Like an
apartment.

Designed like a flat you actually live in — parquet floors, walls clad in walnut for warmth and natural grain.

Vinyl facings line the walls like a record shop — each sleeve facing you, each crate underlined by warm LED light that draws out the room.

A hybrid venue — coffee shop by day, wine and cocktail bar by night (Thursday, Friday, Saturday). And it lends itself to private events: showrooms, talks, corporate gatherings, private parties. We tailor it to your format.

04 / Private events

07 / The system

Listening
as ritual.

A fully vintage hi-fi system, chosen piece by piece. The Sansui AU-777A, an early-70s Japanese integrated amplifier, a concentrate of musicality known for its warm grain. The National Panasonic SU-3600, produced in Japan in the early 70s, a pure marvel of high fidelity that has become a cult favourite among jazz-kissa enthusiasts. The Pioneer CS-911A three-way speakers with a 38 cm woofer — the wide, deep sound of the golden hi-fi era, and the Atohm Sirocco Maple two-way speakers for better sound distribution in the ground-floor space. The acoustically treated ceiling elevates the experience.
